Dear Prabhus, Hare Krishna.
Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
I am delighted to say that the Gita Jayanti program this year was celebrated very enthusiastically. On the actual day (18 December), we had a short program in the evening at the temple. On the 19th, devotees joyfully chanted the whole Bhagavad Gita at the temple...what an experience!
This was followed by the awards presentation for the Sunday School kids (thanks to Tulasi, Subhadra and Krishnapada Prabhus). Then Adikesava Prabhu distributed the prizes to the devotees who distributed the
Bhagavad Gita during the Gita Jayanti marathon.
On Sunday (19th), devotees recited the whole Bhagavad Gita again at the Laxmi-Narayan temple at Burbank. The congregation really appreciated the program. Thanks to Rajesh Gopal Prabhu for organizing the program, and Dina Prabhu for initiating the program.
I would like to personally thank all the devotees who came forward to lead the Bhagavad Gita recitation at the temple. And special appreciation to those devotees who made an extra effort to come again on Sunday at the
Laxmi-Narayan temple, (chanting the Bhagavad Gita for 2 days in a row!).
Thanks to Advaita Prabhu for lending his projector on Sunday; Narada Rsi, Sridhar, and Madhava Prabhus for playing the harmonium; Madhava, Arjun, and Rohininandan Prabhus for playing the Mrdunga; and all the devotees who 'sat down' for the whole recitation.
I would also like to thank Bhakti Candrika Mataji for making such wonderful posters for Gita Jayanti.
I look forward to be part of your enthusiasm again next year.
Gita Jayanti Maha-Mahotsva Ki Jaya!!!
I beg to remain your servant.
