The highly respected Jagadguru Sri Shankaracharya of Sri Sharada Peetham at Sringeri Mutt, Karnataka, has given his kind support for the efforts of Gita Jayanti International social network to unite all Hindus twice yearly:
(A) by every single Hindu observing Gita Jayanti and Guru Purnima by reciting from the Bhagavad Gita and by fasting or at least being vegetarian to honour those two holy days that are common to all Hindus
(B) by participating, either online via live weblinks (www.bit.ly/GJI-live) or in person, in huge numbers, our Gita singing/chanting/reading/reciting at the gigantic Brahma Sarovar, Kurukshetra, Haryana, India, every Guru Purnima Tithi (July - Ashadha month full moon day) & every Gita Jayanti Tithi at the world's biggest Hindu Temple, the Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia
The revered Jagadguru supports this call to all individuals and all organizations to repeatedly schedule their yatras, activities and conferences to coincide with these two venues on the given dates from now onwards, so that the momentum will only build up year after year - thus bridges can be built between individuals and organizations, fraternity and cooperation established, resources and information shared where needed, education of the highest order disseminated, and spiritual advancement made collectively, along with all our fellow men of any or no religion/faith/belief system - Mother Gita's wisdom is valuable and available to one and all, for internal peace, peace with those around us, and peace between communities and nations.
We now live in a global village and its about time we gain this wisdom and put aside petty tribal-warfare-mentality of the uncivilized past well behind us. Hare Krishna!
